Dr. Angela Piazza

Welcome to Union-North United School District

Hello LaVille Community!
My name is Dr. Angela Piazza and I am very excited and proud to be the new Superintendent of Union-North United School Corporation.

This is my 27th year in P-12 education and my 7th year as an Adjunct Professor. I have taught at Bethel University and currently at Indiana Wesleyan University in the School of Educational Leadership where I work with students aspiring to be new Principals, central office Administrators, Superintendents, and Doctoral candidates.

I began my career in education, as an elementary teacher. My Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University is in elementary education with a focus in educational technology. As a classroom teacher, I have taught all grades 1-6 and also had the
opportunity to teach multi-age classes, grades 1-3 and grades 2-4 in a Montessori school.

While teaching, I completed my Masters in Education degree from Indiana Wesleyan University while simultaneously completing my Montessori Teaching Certification from the Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Institute located in Illinois. I was also a mom of a 2 and 4 year old. It was a busy time!

My career opportunities led me to become a Principal of a K-8 school and it was then that I began working to obtain my Principal license through Indiana Wesleyan’s Principal Licensure Program. Eventually, I became a high school  Principal and a District Title I Director for Lake Ridge Schools. During this time I began working on my Education Specialist degree (Ed.S) at Indiana Wesleyan to obtain my Superintendent’s license.

After I completed my Ed.S., I just kept rolling to earn my Doctor of Educational Leadership degree at Oakland City University.

During this time, I became an Assistant Superintendent at Goshen Community Schools and eventually accepted a Superintendent position in Michigan.

Prior to coming to Union-North, for just a short time, I was the Director of Human Resources at Bethel University. I have enjoyed each of the opportunities that I have had throughout my career in education and I have learned so much! But I am and always will be a teacher at heart first as I love learning! My goal is to learn something new each day and to encourage and assist those around me to continue to learn and grow so that they may reach their full potential to do whatever it is they aspire to do in life.
